Archie H. Wills, in the Battle of Amiens, which signalled the start of the Last Hundred Days and led to the defeat of Germany in the First World War. The barrage was drafted by the headquarters of the 58th Battery, CFA., and Reveille was sounded at 3.30 a.m. and we opened fire at 4.20 a.m. and we kept firing until 6.40 a.m., when we stood down and awaited signal to advance."
